About

Horticom began as a humble distributor of fertiliser to retail garden centres, but over the years, it has grown into a dynamic, multi-category supplier. In the 1990s, the business shifted its focus from traditional garden products like fertiliser and seed to general garden merchandise. This strategic move opened the door to trend-driven innovation and global sourcing, laying the foundation for future growth.

Between 2000 and 2005, Horticom expanded beyond the garden sector, embracing new categories and becoming a true multi-category supplier. Today, gardening remains at the heart of our business, but we also offer comprehensive programs across storage, cleaning, and electrical. Our brand portfolio includes well-known household names alongside exciting newcomers, all chosen for their quality and relevance to the New Zealand market.

We continue to invest in our people, growing the size and capability of our field and support teams to ensure we deliver real value to our retail partners. Our approach is collaborative and customer-focused, with a commitment to aligning our services with the strategies of those we work with. By staying responsive to local opportunities and anticipating international trends, we bring fresh, competitive products to market.

Our success is built on a simple philosophy: supply quality products at attractive prices, use accurate forecasting tools to manage supply and demand, and provide exceptional service—especially at the coal-face, in stores where it matters most. We’re proud to be a preferred supplier to New Zealand’s leading hardware chains, independent garden centres, and variety stores.

Doing things ‘The Horticom Way’ means being hands-on, working closely with our customers and their teams to maximise opportunities for product display and sales. Our dedicated team of Territory Managers, Key Account Managers, Customer Services, and Project Coordinators ensures there’s always someone available to support our partners.

As we look to the future, we’re excited to continue this journey—and we want to take you with us.
